Eczema (Atopic Dermatitis)
Eczema shows up as dry, itchy, and inflamed skin. It often affects the hands, arms, behind the knees, and other high-touch areas. At TBB, we recommend fragrance-free products like Bare Bear, gentle routines, and consistent moisture to help ease flare-ups.
Psoriasis
This autoimmune condition results in thick, scaly, red patches that may crack or itch. While not curable, it can be managed with soothing, non-stripping skincare. Our sugar scrubs followed by nourishing butters or oils help comfort and soften the skin.
Keratosis Pilaris (KP)
Also known as “chicken skin,” KP appears as small bumps usually on the upper arms or thighs. Gentle exfoliation with our Brown Sugar & Agave Scrub, followed by a lightweight body oil, can help smooth and refine texture.
Dry Skin
Dry skin often feels tight, flaky, or rough. It lacks enough oil to retain moisture. TBB’s whipped butters are packed with nourishing oils and butters that deeply hydrate without leaving behind residue.
Dehydrated Skin
Unlike dry skin, dehydrated skin lacks water. It may look dull, feel tight, or even appear oily in places. Look for hydrating ingredients like aloe vera and jojoba oil—both found in our scrubs and oils—to restore balance.
Fragrance Sensitivity
If your skin reacts to strong scents or artificial fragrances, TBB has your back. We offer Bare Bear—our unscented, all-natural butter—and clearly label which products contain fragrance oils or essential oils.
Razor Bumps & Ingrown Hairs
After shaving or waxing, some people experience bumps or irritation. Prepping skin with a sugar scrub and sealing in moisture with oil or butter helps reduce irritation and prevent ingrown hairs.
Stretch Marks
These streaky, textured lines show up after rapid growth, weight change, or pregnancy. Regular use of vitamin E-rich products, like our body butters and oils, can help nourish skin and reduce their appearance over time.
Chapped Lips
Dry, cracked lips are often caused by dehydration, weather, or lip licking. Our Ultra-Hydrating Lip Balm soothes and seals in moisture with a vegan wax base and vitamin E.
Cracked Cuticles
Peeling or painful cuticles are common with frequent handwashing or cold weather. Our Cuticle Oil Nail Pens are small but mighty, designed to deliver moisture with no mess throughout the day.
Natural Remedies & Rituals

Body Butters
Purpose: Deep hydration, barrier repair, daily moisture ritual.
Our whipped body butters are rich, velvety blends made to deeply nourish and restore the skin’s natural barrier. They work by sealing in moisture and delivering emollients (like shea and kokum butters) that help prevent water loss. This is essential for dry, cracked, or irritated skin that struggles to retain hydration throughout the day.
When to Use:
Apply to damp skin right after a shower or bath, when pores are open and moisture absorption is at its peak. Use daily for consistent results.
Best For:
Eczema-prone skin
Stretch marks
Ashy or flaking areas
Babies, kids, and sensitive-skin adults
Sugar Scrubs
Purpose: Gentle exfoliation, skin smoothing, prep for moisture.
Our sugar scrubs exfoliate using fine brown sugar crystals suspended in a base of oils, agave nectar, and aloe vera. This combination removes dead skin cells while feeding the skin hydration—unlike harsh scrubs that leave you feeling dry or stripped. The added oils soften while you exfoliate, creating a 2-in-1 polish and moisturize effect.
When to Use:
2–3 times a week, especially before shaving, tanning, or applying body butter. Use more frequently for conditions like keratosis pilaris (KP).
Best For:
Dull or rough skin
Dry patches
Back of arms or thighs (KP)
Prepping skin for body oils or butters
Body Oils
Purpose: Lightweight moisture, scent layering, glow enhancer.
Our body oils are fast-absorbing blends crafted to condition the skin without heaviness. Jojoba, coconut, and vitamin E oils mimic the skin’s natural lipid barrier, helping restore balance and prevent trans-epidermal water loss (TEWL). Unlike water-based lotions, these oils nourish and protect while adding a smooth, radiant finish.
When to Use:
After a shower (either alone or layered over body butter), or anytime during the day for a glow-up moment. Can also be applied to pulse points as a skin-safe fragrance alternative.
Best For:
Normal to oily skin
Those who want hydration without weight
Anyone who loves a silky, scented glow
Summer or humid climates
Cuticle Oil Nail Pens
Purpose: Targeted hydration, nail growth support, barrier restoration.
Packed with jojoba, coconut, and vitamin E oils, our cuticle pens help strengthen nails and soften dry, cracked skin around the nail beds. Regular use supports healthy nail growth and prevents painful peeling or hangnails, especially during cold weather or frequent hand washing.
When to Use:
Daily, after hand washing, or before bed as part of your nighttime ritual. Just twist and apply around nail beds—no mess, no fuss.
Best For:
Anyone who uses gel, acrylic, or polish
Those with dry hands or brittle nails
On-the-go soft girl maintenance
Bare Bear (Unscented Body Butter)

TBB Ingredient Glossary
Raw shea butter in a wooden bowl surrounded by shea nuts, green leaves, and natural oils—showcasing the moisturizing richness and plant-based origins of Butyrospermum Parkii.
Shea Butter (Butyrospermum Parkii)
Shea butter is the queen of moisture. Rich in vitamins A, E, and F, it deeply nourishes dry and irritated skin while helping to improve skin elasticity and reduce inflammation. It’s also packed with essential fatty acids that strengthen the skin’s natural barrier. At TBB, we use shea butter as a primary base in our body butters because it delivers long-lasting hydration without clogging pores. It’s particularly effective for those with eczema, psoriasis, or rough patches, and safe for daily use on sensitive skin.
Kokum Butter (Garcinia Indica Seed Butter)
Kokum butter is a lightweight, non-comedogenic butter known for its regenerative and healing properties. Unlike heavier butters, kokum absorbs quickly without leaving a greasy residue, making it ideal for people with oily or acne-prone skin who still need moisture. It’s rich in stearic and oleic acids—fatty acids that support elasticity and soothe inflamed skin. We use kokum butter in our formula to give all skin types—including the most sensitive—a smooth, soft finish with powerful conditioning benefits.
Coconut Oil (Cocos Nucifera Oil)
Coconut oil is deeply moisturizing and contains antimicrobial properties thanks to its high lauric acid content. It helps replenish lipid levels in the skin and softens dry, flaky, or cracked areas. While some skin types may find it comedogenic on the face, it’s a dream on the body—especially in drier climates or post-shave. We love coconut oil in our butters and scrubs because it melts into skin and adds a protective barrier that helps lock in all-day moisture.
Golden Jojoba Oil (Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil)
Golden jojoba oil is a liquid wax that closely mimics the skin’s own natural sebum, which makes it ideal for balancing oil production. It's non-comedogenic, antibacterial, and hypoallergenic—perfect for soothing irritated skin while keeping moisture in. Jojoba also contains vitamin E and B-complex vitamins that help with skin repair and tone. We include this powerhouse in nearly every product—scrubs, oils, butters, and nail pens—for its lightweight, glow-enhancing properties.
Vitamin E Oil (Tocopherol)
Vitamin E is a potent antioxidant that supports skin healing, cell turnover, and protection against free radical damage. It’s especially effective for fading scars, calming inflammation, and reinforcing the skin’s moisture barrier. In our products, vitamin E enhances shelf life naturally while providing skin with long-term repair benefits. If you deal with sensitivity, post-acne marks, or dryness, this is one of the best ingredients you can apply regularly.
Brown Sugar (Sucrose)
Brown sugar is a gentle physical exfoliant with small, rounded granules that polish without tearing or irritating the skin. It also contains glycolic acid, a natural alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that encourages cell turnover and brightens dull skin. We choose brown sugar for our scrubs because it's effective enough to smooth KP and rough patches, yet gentle enough for sensitive skin types who can’t tolerate harsh exfoliants.
Agave Nectar (Agave Tequilana Leaf Extract)
Agave is a natural humectant, which means it draws moisture into the skin and helps hold it there. It has a syrupy texture that adds softness and slip to our scrubs, making them more hydrating than traditional sugar scrubs. Rich in saponins and fructans, agave also has calming and anti-inflammatory properties that soothe redness and irritation. It’s a lesser-known gem that works well in dry or cold weather routines.
Aloe Vera Gel (Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice)
Aloe vera is famous for its soothing, hydrating, and anti-inflammatory properties. It’s rich in polysaccharides that help retain moisture and support skin healing, making it ideal for post-sun, post-shave, or irritated skin. In our products, aloe adds a fresh burst of hydration and works especially well for people dealing with redness, flaking, or heat-related sensitivity.
Candelilla Wax (Euphorbia Cerifera Wax)
Candelilla wax is a vegan alternative to beeswax that creates a breathable, protective layer on the skin. It helps seal in moisture while adding stability to products like lip balms. Unlike heavier waxes, candelilla feels light and non-greasy, making it great for dry, cracked lips or areas that need extra protection. It’s also a great emollient that contributes to the smooth glide you feel in our lip balm and stick products.
Fragrance Oils & Essential Oils (Various)
We use both clean fragrance oils and essential oils in select scented products—always in skin-safe concentrations. Fragrance oils allow us to offer unique, long-lasting scents without compromising stability, while essential oils (like lavender, citrus, or mint) offer added benefits such as calming or energizing effects. For our sensitive-skinned Barebabes, we always provide unscented options like Bare Bear and fully disclose any fragrance content.
Terms to Know
Inflammation
Your skin’s natural response to stress, irritation, or damage. It shows up as redness, swelling, heat, or itchiness. Chronic inflammation can lead to conditions like eczema, acne, and psoriasis.
Autoimmune Condition
A health condition where the body mistakenly attacks its own healthy tissues. In skincare, conditions like psoriasis fall into this category—causing skin cells to regenerate too quickly, leading to scaling and inflammation.
Exfoliation
The process of removing dead skin cells from the surface of your skin. This can be physical (like sugar scrubs) or chemical (like acids). Regular exfoliation reveals smoother, brighter, healthier-looking skin.
Emollients
Moisturizing ingredients that soften and soothe dry or rough skin. They fill in cracks and smooth out skin texture. Butters and oils—like shea or coconut—are natural emollients.
Lipid Barrier
A layer of natural fats (lipids) in your skin that helps keep moisture in and irritants out. When this barrier is damaged, your skin can become dry, sensitive, or reactive. Many TBB ingredients support this barrier.
TEWL (Transepidermal Water Loss)
The invisible water that escapes from your skin throughout the day. When your skin isn’t properly moisturized or protected, TEWL increases—leading to dehydration and flakiness. Butters and oils help reduce it.
Skin Types
Your skin’s natural behavior, usually categorized as:
Dry (needs moisture)
Oily (overproduces sebum)
Combination (dry in some areas, oily in others)
Sensitive (easily reacts to products or environment)
Normal (balanced and not reactive)
Skin Elasticity
How well your skin can stretch and bounce back. High elasticity means youthful, plump skin. As we age or lose hydration, elasticity decreases—so ingredients that nourish and protect are key.
Non-Comedogenic
Won’t clog pores. Non-comedogenic ingredients are especially important for acne-prone or oily skin types. TBB uses non-comedogenic butters like kokum and jojoba oil.
Stearic Acids
A saturated fatty acid found in plant-based butters (like shea and kokum). It helps condition the skin and improve texture while supporting the skin barrier.
Oleic Acids
An omega-9 fatty acid that deeply nourishes and softens skin. Ideal for dry or mature skin, though those with acne-prone skin may need to use it in balance with other fatty acids.
Fatty Acids
Essential building blocks of healthy skin. They keep the skin soft, smooth, and flexible. Common ones in skincare include oleic, stearic, and linoleic acids.
Antimicrobial
Kills or prevents the growth of harmful microorganisms like bacteria and fungi. Coconut oil and some essential oils have natural antimicrobial properties.
Lauric Acid
A powerful fatty acid found in coconut oil that has antimicrobial and antibacterial properties. It helps fight skin infections and soothe irritation.
Sebum
Your skin’s natural oil. It protects and moisturizes the skin but can sometimes overproduce, especially in oily or acne-prone skin.
Antibacterial
Ingredients that fight or kill bacteria. Helpful for acne-prone skin or healing minor wounds. Jojoba and coconut oil both have gentle antibacterial benefits.
Hypoallergenic
Less likely to cause allergic reactions. TBB uses simple, clean ingredient blends to support even the most sensitive skin types.
Cell Turnover
The skin’s natural process of shedding old cells and generating new ones. Boosting cell turnover helps improve texture, tone, and glow. Exfoliants and AHAs help accelerate this process.
Free Radicals
Unstable molecules that can damage skin cells and speed up aging. They’re caused by things like pollution, sun, and stress. Antioxidants (like vitamin E) help neutralize them.
Glycolic Acid
A type of alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that gently exfoliates the skin, improves texture, and brightens tone. Brown sugar contains small amounts naturally.
Natural AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Acids)
Naturally occurring acids found in fruits and sugar. They help exfoliate the top layer of skin to reveal smoother, fresher skin beneath.
Humectants
Ingredients that pull moisture from the air into your skin. They keep your skin juicy and hydrated. Agave and aloe vera are both natural humectants.
Saponins
Naturally occurring compounds found in plants (like agave) that have gentle cleansing and anti-inflammatory properties. They help calm skin and reduce irritation.
Fructans
Plant-based sugars (also found in agave) that act as humectants and prebiotics, helping to support a healthy skin barrier and promote hydration.
